Young fans of Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory gear up and get set to go to London to experience the story unfold before you in a new avatar! On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of one of the most popular books in the history of children’s fiction, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Puffin India and present a unique and exciting magical contest -The ‘Whipple-scrumptious Roald Dahl Inspired Dream London Holiday Contest’.
For those who have read the book umpteen times, it is really simple. They just need to visit and answer five questions about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Five lucky children will get the Golden ticket for a trip to London, accompanied by an adult, just like in the book.
The London trip will include return air tickets, accommodation and daily allowance for 2 days and 3 nights, chance to watch the spectacular Charlie and the Chocolate Factory musical in London’s West End, a visit to The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre in Great Missenden and a trip to the office of Roald Dahl’s publisher, Puffin UK.

One of the most famous titles and the best known work of writer Roald Dahl, who became a children’s writer after a ‘monumental bash in the head’ while flying as an Royal Air Force pilot during the Second World War, the book has been a favorite with children for at least two generations. Its fantastical characters, including Charlie Bucket, his Grandpa and the 4 other children with their parents, taking a tour of the out of this world chocolate factory, has never failed to attract both children and adult readers. Willy Wonka, the eccentric owner of the factory has also been an immensely popular character both in the book and also in the film made of the same name.
The contest starts from September 09, 2014 and the readers can make their entries till September 30th. The winners will be announced by October 8th.
The winners will fly out to London on Children’s Day, i.e. the 14th of November, for the 3 nights and 2 days long trip.
